New Library Catalog

Have you seen the new catalog?  It has some fun features.  My favorite part is the "Recommended" feature.  Under the "What's New?" tab, you can find the books that I have recently recommended to a class.  Click here to see the catalog and the new items that are featured.  But be sure to check out the "recommended" button to see the titles I think are worth checking out.

Read Like a President

Happy Inauguration Day! In honor of our new president, I would like to recommend a few titles. Barack Obama has listed each of the following books as his favorite book on his facebook page. And you can check them out at the Willard Library:

  • Moby Dick by Herman Melville
  • The Tragedies by William Shakespeare
  • For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway
  • Speeches and writing of Abraham Lincoln

And as we say farewell to the Bushes, I would like to thank Laura Bush, a former school librarian, for her emphasis on early literacy during her years as First Lady.
